The DeLand Fall Festival of the Arts is a two day outdoor art festival held in downtown Deland. It is always hosted on the

November weekend prior to Thanksgiving. Approximately 50,000 people attend the festival. Deland is located in Volusia County-Central Florida. It is a short driving distance from Orlando and Daytona Beach.

ART: This juried fine arts venue includes between 160 and 185 state, national and international artists. The artist’s works are reviewed by a jury of art professionals to determine the artist selection for the show. An effort is made to cover a wide range of artistic mediums which include painting, glass, sculpture, jewelry, leather, photography, printmaking, wood, ceramics and fiber. Over $25,000 in artist awards are made to the outstanding pieces in various categories.

MUSIC: The DeLand Fall Festival of the Arts also presents local, national and international live musical performances on both days. Visitors to the festival enjoy a broad range of music representing a variety of styles: blues, folk, rock, jazz and world music. The music is presented outdoors at the Pioneer Park Stage. There are also individual musical street performances presented throughout the festival area.

YOUTH ART EXHIBIT: The rotunda of the Thomas C. Kelly County Administration Building is the venue for an exhibition of student artists from public and private schools throughout Volusia County. This exhibition showcases more than 1,200 examples of student art. Certificates are given to each student participant and cash awards are presented to the best student artists.

YOUTH ACTIVITIES: Children’s art activities are made available on the grounds of the Thomas C. Kelly County Administration Building. Parents and children can explore a variety of hands-on-art media projects presented by a partnership of area museum personnel. Children’s learning opportunities are also made available. A variety of organizations offer an exhibit or activity that provides a variety of learning experiences – ecological, wildlife, public safety, etc. to young people.

YOUTH PERFORMANCE: The festival hosts a variety of performing arts experiences by and for children. These performances are presented on stage at the historic Athens Theatre. The youth presentations include dance, music, storytelling, improvisation and plays performed by individual organizations and schools.

SPECIAL EVENTS: The festival also presents Shakespearian performances, film presentations and a Poetry Slam event.

OTHER FEATURES: This event is a family event that provides art, live music, food trucks, youth activities, beer garden, restaurants, pubs, wine bars and more.
